About Teplice Spas

Teplice has a spa tradition extending back more than 2,000 years. It lies in a mountainous area of the northern Czech Republic, approximately 90 km from Prague, and has welcomed visitors from the Middle East for more than thirty years.

It is one of the country’s major spa towns. The source reports 1,200 visitors annually and describes specialisation in musculoskeletal and neurological conditions in children and adults.

Baths and pools use mineral water from the natural Pravřídlo spring. The source lists mineral content of 1,064 mg/l, fluoride content of 7.34 mg/l, a small amount of radon and a natural temperature of 41°C.

The water is described as developing its characteristics over approximately 18,000 years as mountain rainfall penetrates volcanic rock beneath Teplice, acquiring heat and minerals underground.
