Teplice Spas

Teplice is a historic spa town with a tradition extending back more than 2,000 years. It lies in a mountainous area of the northern Czech Republic, approximately 90 km from Prague. Visitors from the Middle East have been coming for more than thirty years.
It is one of the Czech Republic’s major spa towns. The original article reports 1,200 visitors annually and describes specialisation in musculoskeletal and neurological conditions in children and adults.
The pools and baths use hot mineral water from the natural Pravřídlo spring. The source lists mineral content of 1,064 mg/l, fluoride content of 7.34 mg/l, a small amount of radon and a natural temperature of 41°C.
The water is described as acquiring its characteristics over approximately 18,000 years, as mountain rainfall penetrates volcanic rock beneath Teplice and gains heat and minerals underground.
